Modern Radio is an independent and do it yourself label started by Tom Loftus in the spring of 1999 and has put out 43 records to date. The focus of the label is on community and exists to encourage others to make music, and support the growing community of bands and people in the Twin Cities area. It's alumni include Deerhoof, Motion City Soundtrack, Selby Tigers and Sicbay.

In 2009 look for a co-release 12" EP by Tornavalanche, a new CD version of the Vampire Hands LP, new albums by His Mischief,  The Danforths and a STNNNG 12" EP.  Modern Radio is also home to  The Chambermaids and Mirah who are both equally busy preparing for world domination.
