It looks like it’s two for ones today! We had a great interview with the ABJ yesterday and they ran the story today. Whoa…check it out.

Also, if you live in Austin set your TIVO for early. The Fox 7 Morning Show is going to run a quick story about Better Than The Van. We’ll have video of it once it’s aired.

We found another great clip of Mike laying down advice for finding and working with a publicist. He also covers radio promotion and when to throw some cash at it.

Why is all this important? You want people to know your touring and that you have a record. A GOOD publicist can help so you can focus on booking the tour, playing good shows and finding a place to get your amp fixed.

Mike King from Berklee’s College of Music has some solid advice for anyone who wants their band to blow up. His first tidbit? Tour!

He then goes on to drop a basic marketing plan for the next time you head out. If you do everything yourself, this is something you should watch.

It’s no secret that you can jack your MySpace friend and player stats through free programs or paid services. Sweet. Hypemachine’s “Popular Page” was seeing a bit of this manipulation and released the names of all the bands they caught doing it. Funny.

Check out this post from Hypebot. It’s a survey from ReverbNation that looks at how these hard times are effecting bands. An interesting stat is that  47% of the bands surveyed said they were unable to go on tour because of the economy. There’s a ton of other great info and even some flashy graphs. Oooooooo.
